Claiming the Path: New Moon in Capricorn

I've been really challenged this week.

I'm studying something I've never studied before (not astrology, nor wellness related) and I find myself way.....waaaaay out of my comfort zone. I actually cried out of frustration on Thursday. My instructor asked me if I wanted to drop out of the course.

“Drop? Why would I drop?” That was my response. But first there was a reaction within - “I'm not a quitter.”

I had to sit with that for a bit. Because it's not actually true. I have quit plenty of things. In work, life and love. Sometimes prematurely. Sometimes too late. I've shamed myself for quitting things. So.many.times.

But this. There's absolutely no quitting this. As one of you so kindly pointed out yesterday, I just wanted to share my feelings. (And get some sympathy. Which did not happen. Double sigh. Lol)

This is the Cancer-Capricorn axis we find ourselves in. This is my lived Astrology. What's yours? Go and look to 28° of Capricorn. *Where in your life are you being pushed beyond your (current) capacity?* That's the Jupiter opposition.

What are you willing to commit to...no matter what?

That's the New Moon in Cap, (with the mini grand trine involving Uranus, Saturn and Neptune.)

The Cancer-Capricorn axis is one of space holding. We've spoken about this before. These two are the emotional and practical fountations of our lives beyond the self. Their connection to two of the angles in our charts (the IC and MC) strengthens this. There would be no backbone of the chart without these. As cardinal, feminine signs they pertain to how we're held, but also what we hold....in esteem, in regard....deep within.

These are ruled by the Moon and Saturn and anybody with a natal Moon-Saturn conjunction or either of these planets in Cancer or Capricorn (natally or by progression) is going to experience this lunation in significant ways. (More signs and placements to include for sure, but that's for a longer write up.)

Venus moved into Aquarius today, speaking to Neptune (her higher octave) in a beautiful way this whole weekend. She's also approaching Pluto. Venus entering Aquarius brings inspiration, creativity and a more spacious approach to relationships and values. Sun and Saturn right now stabilise the energy, while Sun and Uranus support flexibility and innovation. Venus approaching Pluto is her wanting to play with relational fire. In Aquarius she's the 'cool chick' that's easy going and totally detached. Approaching Pluto she's starting to sense the need to question the authenticity of her 'cool chick' vibe. Venus, by nature, wants to merge with another. Pluto, by nature, consumes. Everything.

In Aquarius these two will have to take stock of their detachment and ask if it's true and real. And if not, they'll have to transmute and transcend. Evolve into something that works for them both. Not consumption. But an appreciation and acceptance that love needs space. And that 'space' is a sacred container. And in relationships that begin now it needs to be a high value.

All the weekend's aspects speak to a moment to harmonise responsibility with individuality, explore inspired ideas and try new relational or creative approaches.

Freedom within commitment is the theme. Creativity flows best when anchored in practical planning.

It's a bit of an Ace of Wands moment mixed with the Star card. Your inspired vision is fuelled by your healing *journey*. And the key here really is journey. Not a completion. Not a finality. But a commitment to the path. Whatever the path is. It's yours and this lunation asks you to claim it.

Im totally claiming my spot at this course and at some point I'll share more about it. All I know is that there is time, space and reason to quit.

Just not now.

Carpe diem was written for this energy.

We're not pulling cards this week. Earth and Water want you to go within. Here's a reflection question for your journals instead:

What bold step can I take today to initiate meaningful growth?

Suggested ritual: Write your intentions tomorrow (18th Jan), light a brown or green candle, visualise the successful outcome of your intentions for 10 minutes and then place them somewhere visible for the duration of the lunar cycle (until 17th Feb).

Wishing you all a beautiful New Moon!
