"I" vs "they".
Leo Full Moon at 24 degrees and 5 mins.
There are two signs strongly associated with the "I-ness" of our existence. Aries and Leo. Both fire. One cardinal - it just goes, acting before thinking. The other, fixed - slow and observant, thinks first, acts after. (The fact that Gemini sits between them speaks to this progression, but that's another topic for another time.)
Leo is slow and observant, but really only in order to be seen. And only once ready. (I was raised by one and she never left the house without having her hair curled first.)
All fire signs welcome visibility, albeit in different ways. (Leo and Sagittarius are my "dancing on tables" reference. I was raised by both. Double sigh.)
A Full Moon is a dance in the sky that's affectionately called an opposition. We often think of oppositions as conflict-causing. In this case, with the Sun in Aquarius (the sign of "they"), this becomes an "I vs THEY" type of energy.
Why "they"? Aquarius is the sign of those of us that sit on the edges of society. The misfits. The ones who don't belong. If you ask them, they're likely to not even want to belong. Especially not to a 3D world. They're cosmic travellers with big visions and roaming minds. They're rebels. The Sun here is uncomfortable, having to think in an Aquarian manner - it needs to consider the needs of the collective. The Sun is ruled by Leo, where the Moon currently finds herself - exposed. In an opposition, the Moon is visible in her fullest glory and each Full Moon we chase her to watch her rise and then condemn her for making us crazy. This very act is Aquarian in nature - a total contradiction. My dear friend Lea and I have spent ample time discussing the contradictory nature of Aquarius. And this is the nature of oppositions - a contradiction. (It's why I deepened my studies in Astrology - I AM a living contradiction with my Pisces - Virgo axis. Aquarius is also the sign of Astrology. Go figure.) A Full Moon is also a time of the lunar cycle, when the divinity of the feminine is fully seen and appreciated. That's also for another day, though.
Back to oppositions. It was through the work of the brilliant Christopher Renstrom that I started looking at oppositions as a path of integration. From "how am I more important than them"? this Full Moon energy becomes "how can I show up for them and how can we innovate? Each standing in its own truth, creating something together." That's the beauty of the Leo-Aquarius axis.
So, where in your life are you finding out a new truth and what are you lending it to?
Leo is also playful, creative and expressive and with Uranus and Mercury in the mix, watch your words, but more so, watch your thoughts. What is their source and what is their destination?
Consider the monkey in my pic Uranus - having just caused some mischief. And go with it.
As long as you still have a table to dance on.
